Question of the Day

Today's question is Christmas or whatever holiday you happen to celebrate based.

Do you have any special traditions this time of year? If so, what are they?

The hubs and I are creating our own little Christmas village that will grow as the years go by. We picked out a house last year and a bicycle shop this year. We also exchange stockings and wear matching PJ pants Christmas morning!

Our holiday tradition is traveling. This time of year is great to travel because everyone's at home and there's great deals!!

We always drive around and look at the Christmas lights wherever we may be for that year.

We collect a Christmas ornament every year for our tree. We also get one every where we travel to together.
For instance this year we live in San Francisco and they won the world series so we will get a San Fran one. And because my husband also just found out he has cancer we will get one to "celebrate" that too (I was thinking one that says Faith or hope)! Each ornament marks a place in our lives together...

Michael and I add a new ornament that has to do with where we are in our lives at that point. This year I asked my mom for the Italy Hallmark "Doorways" series ornament, plus I've found some beautiful handpainted glass ball ornaments in Asiago. I guess I went a tad crazy with the mementos this year, lol.

It's silly but I always play the pickle game with our tree. On Christmas Eve I stick the pickle ornament in the tree some where. Then after all the presents are opened on Christmas Day, everyone but me has to search for it. Who ever finds it gets a little prize like $10 gift card to itunes or something silly.
